iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3, iPad Pro 12.9 Release Date: New iPad Line to Arrive Mid-October 2014?

While Apple has just released the much-awaited iPhone 6 and the Apple Watch, fans will be delighted to know that they will not have to wait for much longer for the unveiling of the next Apple devices.

Quoting a reliable source, a recent report by the AppleInsider said that the Cupertino-based tech giant has already "set internal project and marketing deadlines of mid-October, prior to the planned unveiling of major new products during the second half of the month."

In fact, the Daily Dot has provided techies with a more definite date. The website claims that Apple will host an event on Oct. 21 to unveil two new iPads as well as to launch the OS X Yosemite.

In the previous years, Apple has always displayed new products in October.

On Oct. 22, 2013, Apple unveiled the iPad Air and the Retina iPad Mini at media event. Similarly, it is expected that this October Apple will unveil the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, and probably a 12.9-inch iPad, which has been dubbed the iPad Pro.

Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities analyst, whose predictions regarding release of Apple products has been quite reliable, has stated in a recent report that the iPad Air 2 will come with "significant spec upgrades." The device is likely to be thinner compared to the original iPad Air, pack the new A8 processor, and come with an anti-reflective screen coating, a full-lamination touch panel, a gold-colored casing, as well as a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Even the iPad Mini 3 may possibly get Touch ID tech, but Kuo says he is not sure about it yet.

As far as the iPad Pro is concerned, this tablet may come with a stylus and a 4K resolution screen. However, not much is known about this device yet, except for the fact that the supply side has been engaged in ground work for its production "for at least a year."

It is being said that Tim Cook, who plans to "shake up the iPad Line," may possibly go on stage to show off the iPad Pro. However, as in the case of the Apple Watch, this device is expected to be released in 2014.

As for the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, they should be available in early November.
