One thing we know for sure, is the new iPad 5 will be thinner and lighter. Some sources are even saying the new iPad could be as much as 25% lighter and lose about 5 to 8 ounces off the waist.

The new iPad is also expected to have a revamped display. Instead of the glass-on-glass bonding of the current model, the iPad 5 is expected to have a single layer of glass with a two surface coating. Many believe the Sharp IGZO technology will look better and help the battery.

As for release date, the iPad 5 rumors all contradict one another.

Christian Zibreg at iDownloadBlog says: "The fifth-generation iPad is believed to be entering trial production next month, meaning the device should be on track for a rumored September launch," Zibreg announced. "Initial output is pegged at up to three million units until Apple and its manufacturing partners reach yield levels necessary to ramp up production..."
