iOS 8 Release Date, Rumors: Focus on Health, Better Maps and More [VIDEO]
With Apple currently working hard to bring out iOS 8 to its devices, it is expected that the new operating system will have a release date towards the end of Q3 or beginning of Q4 2014. However, eager Apple lovers may not have to wait much longer to get a first glimpse of iOS 8, since Apple is set to unveil it at the WWDC 2014 in June, where an initial peek at the operating systems features will be shown off.
Rumors from tech experts suggest that iOS 8 will not necessarily bring a totally new concept, but rather enhance its predecessor and add apps that are more useful for users.
If Apple does not deviate from the traditional way it brings out its releases, then according to tech website Digital Trends, iOS 8 will most likely be available to the public around late September or October this year.
For this year's release, Apple will be focusing on health-related apps and split-screen multitasking capability. Â Instead of revamping new programs, the iOS 8 streamlines bugs and lags from its previous version.
Fans may also be interested to know that iOS 8 allows split-screen multitasking for its tablet devices.
Apple Insider wrote, "The feature has reportedly been designed with Apple's full-size 9.7-inch iPad models in mind, including the iPad Air, but said it's "unclear" whether multi-application support will be available on the 7.9-inch iPad mini."
Watch how iOS 8 multitasking capability works with Apple devices:
One of the major apps included in iOS 8 is touted to be Healthbook, which is rumored to come with Apple's new iWatch, and equipped with the capability to retrieve data from RunKeeper, Nike's Move and other health tracking apps, without having to switch to other programs.
iOS 8 features enhanced Maps with ability to plot internal locations, CarPlay that is available to operate certain apps in vehicles, overhauled widget designs and notification center, and iTunes Radio among many others.
