iOS 8 Keyboards Comparison: Swype, Swiftkey, Cooolkey Review – Which is Best?
In the latest version of iOS, there are a number of keyboard schemes that will surely intrigue users. The most common ones are Swype, Swiftkey and the Cooolkey. One of the reasons why the latest version of iOS is popular is perhaps because the OS allows third party apps to replace the built-in keyboard of the device, making it more user friendly and customizable.
With the latest update of iOS 8, keyboard apps from the Android platform can also be downloaded and installed on iPad and iPhones.
Of the three types of iOS keyboards available, Swiftkey is known to be more user friendly. It is downloadable free of cost from the Apple store and it has a built-in feature which makes use of the user's typing style and terminology usage. Swiftkey also uses the Swipe typing for touch screen, making it easier for users who prefer that.
Swype keyboard, though similar to the Swiftkey app, still has some subtle differences. It also uses the predictive texting, but it is simpler than the Swype keyboard. On the negative side, it costs $0.99 in the Apple store, making it a bit less favorable than the free Swiftkey app.
The Cooolkey seems to have a negative reputation in the app market because of its incorrect spell check and autocorrect. On the positive side, it offers the users the option to add themes and change the default settings of the keyboards, which are not available in other apps.
