iOS 7.1 Jailbreak Update Latest News: iPhone, iPad and iPod Jailbreak Drops
A new upgrade for the operating system of Apple devices has just dropped. Users are speculating that the same jailbreak will be impossible if product owners download the updated version. This being the case, will consumers see the possibility of a new jailbreak for iOS 7.1?
It seems like the kernel exploit that was used in evasi0n was patched in the newest operating system update for Apple devices. The jailbreak for Apple iOS 7 was dropped by evasi0n in late December, much earlier than was predicted.
The development team, the Evad3ers, had created the modification so early that even casual observers knew that it would be patched over with the subsequent version of iOS that came out. Now the question is whether the team will be applying their expertise to finding the programming loopholes in iOS 7.1, or wind up waiting for the more extreme upgrade to iOS 8 before they make another jailbreak for people with iPads, iPods, and iPhones.
@pod2g, a developer at a security company and a member of the evad3rs team told an iDigital Times reporter a few things about what people might expect for the future of jail breaking:
"For iOS 7.1, I don't know ... there is a big chance the evad3rs won't focus on it as a team ... expect that for iOS 8 :)"
However, he went on to add, users shouldn't necessarily count the possibility out:
"If one day, I find myself bored and can put enough time and energy into it, I have some ideas for how to make a 7.1 jailbreak ... depending on how it has been fixed and other external events."
Either way, if you've got the jailbreak now, chances are it would be best to wait.
