iOS 7.1.3 Update Release Date Set for August 2014: Battery Drain and Calendar Bug Fixes Update

With the upcoming release of the newest iOS 8 update for mobile devices, Apple is prepped to release the latest and last of the iOS 7 updates coming this August.

The iOs 7.1.3 would be the last of the version 7 updates coming to Apple's mobile devices like the iPad and the iPhone. It was thought at first that the last version update was 7.1.2, but with bugs still plaguing the update, it was inevitable that 7.1.3 would be released.

One such bug that existed in the 7.1.2 update was the incorrect holiday dates on the Calendar app. Regardless of what region the settings are put in, the Calendar would note holidays usually celebrated in Canada and Mexico.

The bug was caused by a software issue that Apple promptly fixed with the 7.1.3 update.

Another issue caused by the 7.1.2 update was unnecessary battery drain. A number of users as well as reputable gadget review publications have noticed this drain on their devices. One such publication, PhonesReview.co.uk, had the following to say about the recent 7.1.3 update.

"Of course it remains to be seen if iOS 7.1.3 will solve the problem with battery drain that some readers have reported to us, and which some of us at Phones Review have noticed on our own devices," they said on their website.

The release will be done in August, but it is still unknown on which specific date Apple wishes to release the update. The update will be the last version 7 update coming out to mobile devices as the iOS 8 is already on its way.
