Interview: Plumb's Tiffany Arbuckle Lee Shares on Her Hit Song 'Need You Now', Her Love For The Cure and Her Spot on This Fall's Winter Jam Tour 2013
Plumb has been a staple in the Christian music scene since the 1990's with her eclectic rock sound winning over fans all over the world. After several years out of touring and recording, Plumb is back with the hit song, "Need You Now" off the new album of the same name. Singer Tiffany Arbuckle Lee is poised for a great new season in her musical career.
We would like to thank Plumb's Tiffany Arbuckle Lee for taking the time to do this interview with BreatheCast.
BreatheCast: How do you feel Need You Now has been received, now that it has been out awhile?
Plumb:"Incredible. The feedback's been only positive and based off of real connections with the songs and as a writer, that's the ultimate goal... not just hearing someone say "it's good or it rocks". It's been more specific as in "this specific song(s) met me where I was that night and I'm different now" which is both humbling and rewarding."
BreatheCast: What was it like working with Dan Haseltine (Jars of Clay) on "Drifting"?
Plumb: "Like working alongside a good friend and mentor, of which he is both."
BreatheCast: How would you describe your sound for people that haven't heard your new record or only know your older material?
Plumb: "Sophisticated pop/rock/electronic music that's brutally honest lyrically and driven by raw emotion."
BreatheCast: Tell us the story behind your single, "Need You Now"?
Plumb: "I've struggled with panic attacks and anxiety since I was 13 and although aware of my need for God in general, experienced socially paralyzing and physically debilitating anxiety where I felt like I needed him 'now' like never before. Times where I felt and still feel like I could die. 'Need You Now' is for the human race. I think we all have moments and times of crisis... and this is a prayer to yell at the top of your lungs. It is a release and a way to connect with Him and you need Him more than ever."
BreatheCast: How do you view your career differently then you did 10 years ago?
Plumb: "As a long term commitment. Early on, Plumb was something I was willing to try and to build because it wasn't something I planned or orchestrated but rather an opportunity God placed before me. It's become obvious though that it's a key piece of who I am, so my sights are set on it being a much bigger picture than just making records."
BreatheCast: If you could collaborate with one Secular Artist and one Christian Artist, who would you choose?
Plumb: "Robert Smith from The Cure and David Crowder."
BreatheCast: How was your experience being a part of the first Annual K-Love Awards in Nashville?
Plumb: "Fantastic. It was a class act from start to finish."
BreatheCast: Do you have a favorite scripture as a band or a truth that you guys use a lot? If not, what are some personal favorite verses of yours?
Plumb: "Isaiah 41:10, Fear not for I am with You, be not dismayed for I am your God I will strengthen you, yes I will help you I will uphold you with your righteous right hand..."
BreatheCast: What are your touring plans for this Fall 2013?
Plumb: "I'm headlining my first tour, The 'Need You Now' Fall 2013 Tour and Josh Wilson and Mikeschair are my support, both of whom are wonderful friends to me...all of us are incredibly excited! Then we have been honored to join the Winter Jam 2013 West! We hope to see a lot of old friends and make many new ones this Fall!"
