Instagram Update November 2014 Details & Changes: What's Different? Caption Editing & More
Instagram revealed on Tuesday that it added a bunch of new updates and improvements that will make it easier and more convenient for users to share their lives with others on the social media site.
According to Instagram's website, the Explore tab on the page was enhanced for a faster way of searching for people on the site.
The Explore icon was changed to a magnifying glass, which will further give the option of either searching for People or Photos.
While the Photos tab remained the same, as it still showed a list of pictures and videos that matched the keyword searched, the People tab reveals popular users, those who have a large number of followers or those with popular posts.
The People tab on the Explore icon is said to enable users to check out "interesting accounts for you to discover," based on a user's interests, according to BBC.
Aside from the update made to the Explore tab, Instagram users are now allowed to edit the captions that were already posted, which is in response to a multitude of user requests. To be allowed to edit their captions.
Prior to the update, those who posted captions which contained misspelled words or typos were unable to edit the post, and would often result in deleting the entire caption, or adding a comment which corrects the original post.
However, because of the update, correcting typos can be done by just clicking on the "Edit" option in the menu on the lower part of the posted picture.
The update started rolling out on November 11 for iOS users via Apple's App store, and is downloadable through Google Play for Android version 6.10.
The California-based social media site was launched in October 2010 and had quickly reached the mainstream.
Facebook acquired Instagram in April 2012 for $1 billion which now has over 200 million users.
