'Indiana Jones 5' Release Date, Cast Rumors: Robert Pattinson or Bradley Cooper to Take on Dr. Jones?

The '80s hit film franchise, 'Indiana Jones' has officially been slated for a comeback, although its release date as well as its cast has yet to be announced by animation giant Walt Disney Studios.

Previous reports claim that '80s 'Indiana Jones' star Harrison Ford was initially in negotiations with Disney to take on the upcoming movie's titular role, but with the 71-year-old actor's recent injury while filming 'Star Wars Episode VII', it has become unlikely that the award-winning Hollywood actor would still be taking on the action-packed role.

However, according to IMDB.com, the Star Wars actor will still be starring in the new 'Indiana Jones' flick, but his role in the upcoming movie remains unclear.

Meanwhile, producers are allegedly inclined to pick 'Twilight' star Rob Pattinson to play the lead role in 'Indiana Jones 5'. On the other hand, many believe that 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Bradley Cooper will be tapped to take on the role.

It is unclear if the 2008 'Indiana Jones' film, 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', star Shia LaBeouf is also being considered for a role in the forthcoming film.

Recent interviews with 'Twilight' star Pattinson, however, revealed that the star was unaware of the rumors about this portrayal of Dr. Jones in the fifth installment of the series.

Disney insiders have recently insinuated that the animation giant has huge plans in store for the 'Indiana Jones' franchise. Apart from the forthcoming string of movies, Disney is also presumed likely to release spin-offs from the iconic film series such as games and possibly cartoons.

'Indiana Jones 5' is expected to be a major success at the box office, but reluctantly has no official release date as of yet.
