Immigration Reform News 2014: Advocates Blame Delays in the US Immigration Reforms on the US President
US Immigration Reform supporters appear to have suffered yet another devastating blow after US President Barack Obama failed to convey executive action over what many would call a 'much-needed' reform in the immigration policies of the US.
Immigration reform advocates were largely disappointed by the delay of the executive action from the US President, prompting allegations that Obama has succumbed to political pressure brought about by the forthcoming US senate elections.
The US President outright denied the allegations during an interview on 'Meet the Press' on NBC, although he admitted that politics did have something to do with the immigration reform delays.
According to Obama, disagreement between parties in July over the strategy to be used in handling the surge of unaccompanied minor illegal immigrants on the US borders gave many the impression that the country is in an immigration crisis. This puts Obama in a difficult position when it comes to undertaking reforms concerning the US immigration, despite the fact that he had guaranteed its delivery in the soonest possible manner.
Critics say that the pressure on Obama to forego the reforms in light of the November elections have played a large role on the delay of the much needed changes. Reports claim that the US President seeks control over the Senate majority which they say will not happen if the Democrats fail to win the required number of seats.
Immigration reforms being pursued by the President's democratic party have already been pegged with much criticism as they left many worried about the US border security, while disagreements on the subject of 'amnesty' has apparently hindered the reforms to move forward.
