Hunter Hayes New Album 2013: "Encore" Release Tuesday / Plays Fan Favorites "I Want Crazy", "Somebody's Heartbreak" in NYC

21-year old country phenom Hunter Hayes just released his new album, Encore Tuesday and fans are already lined up around the block to buy it. As part of MTV's Artist to Watch series, Hunter played at Webster Hall to help promote his debut follow up.

Everyone from teenie bopper girls [decked out in homemade Hunter Hayes attire] to teenie bopper moms packed the venue to watch and listen to Hayes perform new and old tracks in the intimate setting.

Hunter Hayes opened up with a few songs on the acoustic guitar. Fans went wild for favorites like "Somebody's Heartbreak" and "I Want Crazy". Hayes also got to bring a lot a couple of friends from Nashville to open up for his performance. Rising country songwriter Ashley Monroe and Nashville up-and-comers Striking Matches did a masterful job playing before Hayes' headlining spot in the Webster Hall ballroom.

Whether or not Hayes' demographic understood the 50 Shades of Grey, and drug references Monroe casually fits into her lyrics is hard to say. Regardless they loved Hayes.

Though Hunter was recently Grammy-nominated for his self-titled debut record, he admits he still gets a little nervous before going on stage.

"[It's] so special you don't want to mess it up," Hayes told MTV's Christina Garibaldi before the show. "It's so good to see all of you guys tonight. It doesn't get any better than this."

It's perplexing. Thousands of screaming fans that need nothing more than a wink to pass out, still makes the kid nervous. It's easy to forget because of Hunter Hayes' immense talent; he's still a 21-year old kid.
