'Hunger Game:Catching Fire' Movie: Critic Review, Synopsis, and No.1 Spot in Box Office
The most anticipated movie of this fall, 'Hunger Games:Catching Fire', finally made it to the big screen on Friday and just so happened to hit No.1 on box office ticket earnings. The movie that featured stars as Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and many more, earned a total of $161.1 million in its debut weekend. Worldwide, 'Hunger Games:Catching Fire' turned in an impressive $307.7 million, topping their first series of 'Hunger Games' at almost $152.5 million in the U.S. The film that has already clearly eastablished itself as a blockbuster saga, is a sequal to the first series of the 'Hunger Games'. The movie takes on the story of the 12th annual Hunger Games where Jennifer and Josh's character must face the games once again to truly claim theimselves as the victors. The sequel attracted more of a broader audience this time reaching out to ages over than 25, as well as, the younger audience. Half of the ticket buyers were 25-and younger, but more than 12% of viewers were men this go around.
"Hunger Games" is based on the best selling novel by Suzanne Collins and is a three-part series. The next two part of the films are said to be released in both 2014, and 2015. Critic reviews have been outstanding so far stating the movie is a 'must see'. Rotten Tomatoe gave the movie a ranking of %90 and stated that the movie was "enriched with a deeper exploration of the franchises though provoking themes, Catching Fire proves a thouroughly compelling second installment in the Hunger Games series". Fans are giving the second series a whopping %94 liking rate, and critics are continuing to say that the movie leaves you 'wanting more'. NPR writer, Bob Momdello, stated that the "strength of the installment is in the box-office odds continue to be, in the Hunger Games catchphrase,"ever in its favor".
