Right now, The Hunger Games is one of the biggest franchises in modern Hollywood history. It has earned more than $400 million since its release last March. It earned the third most of the year behind The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. The next movie in the series, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is expected to be even bigger than the original.

Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen, said, "She's struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder after the games while living in Victor's Village, where she never wants for food, and feels useless. She's adapting to a new life."
