HTC One Wear Release Date, Specs: Expected for August-September Launch, Leaked Interface Photos
Tech companies like Samsung, LG, and Motorola are looking into making wearable technology that complements their smartphones. Samsung for example has the Samsung Gear which goes hand in hand with the Galaxy and Note series.
Other wearable devices like the LG G Watch and the Motorola Moto 360 are more or less stand-alone devices which act much like smartphones themselves. Other companies are already following suit, like HTC with their One Wear. With the inclusion of the word "One' in the product name, this will most likely complement the One M8 or maybe the M7.
HTC hasn't released too many details on the One Wear, but there are already a few leaks about its hardware and specs, when it's coming out, as well as how much it might go for on the market.
For the release date, the One Wear is already set for a late August or early September launch. There is speculation that the One Wear will be contending with the Moto 360 as it shares a similar round-face type design. Motorola still hasn't announced an official release date for their wearable smart watch, where it was previously expected for a July release.
As for the One Wear, it is reported to have both a polycarbonate and metal variants, much like HTC's line of smartphones. Many believe that the watch may be made out of both materials, most likely a metal face and a rubber type plastic strap of sorts.
There are also leaked images of the watch's interface featuring three icons with the titles in Chinese. The icons can be translated to File Manager, Music, and Remote Camera, in order from left to right.
A price for the One Wear hasn't been officially announced by HTC yet, but it is speculated to share a price range with the LG G Watch and the Motorola Moto 360, which is around the $350 range.
