While HTC has not made any announcement regarding the release date of its upcoming Android-powered smartwatch supposedly called HTC One Wear, it is being speculated that the device will be launched sometime in late August or early September.

Even the smartwatch announced by its contender Motorola, which was earlier scheduled for a June launch, is now expected to be released by the end of this year. Motorola's upcoming smartwatch is called the Motorola Moto 360.

So far, HTC has not disclosed much regarding its upcoming smartwatch, but TK Tech News reported that the device will be available in two versions - polycarbonate and metal, very much akin to the HTC One E8 and metal HTC One M8. Several people are also of the view that HTC One Wear will have rubber-type plastic straps.

Some leaked images of the HTC smartwatch, especially one leaked by EVLeaks, show a glimpse of the device's interface featuring icons of File Manager, Remote Camera, and Music. The pictures in question show all of these icons with Chinese titles.

In fact, the picture shared by EVLeaks said that it was an "artist reproduction" and a "100% faithful reproduction" of the HTC One Wear. However, both sneak peeks demonstrate the identical round smartwatch that many are waiting for. Also, they have yet to see or reveal the features and specs of the much anticipated smartwatch.

Meanwhile, DigitalSpy reports that "the user interface, despite being Android Wear, also appears to have a skin similar to that of HTC's own Sense UI found on smartphones."

With an increasing number of leaks appearing on the Internet, HTC was soon to tease its users with a promotional video of the smartwatch on its YouTube account. The promotional video emphasizes how the HTC pays close attention to design.

Meanwhile, some critics are speculating that the HTC One Wear will be priced close to the prices of the LG G Watch and the Motorola Moto 360, which is around $350.
