Despite the hype surrounding the HTC One M9 before its launch early this year, the Taiwanese tech manufacturer HTC's current flagship smartphone did not meet the expectations of the tech experts and enthusiasts alike. Hence, the company is now keen to salvage its fortunes by releasing another handset.

While HTC has yet to confirm the precise release date of its upcoming flagship device dubbed as the HTC One M10, it has said that as far as the design, innovation as well as features are concerned, the device will include noteworthy improvements.

IB Times reports that it is expected that the HTC One M10 will be released in the fall, perhaps in March 2016, since the current flagship smartphone the One M9 will be completing a year-cycle in the market by then.

TechBuffalo quotes a report by the Taipei Times that said recently, HTC CEO Cher Wang apologised to the company's shareholders for the poor performance over the last few months and promised to pull through by making "significant improvements in innovation and design for the next flagship model next year."

It is worth noting here that the HTC One M9 was severely criticised by many for its lack of innovation, while several others described the device as a minor upgraded version of its predecessor, the HTC One M8. In addition, the launch of HTC's current flagship smartphone device was also delayed owing to reported supply-related problems following a technical problem.

While not much is known regarding the specs and release date of the upcoming HTC One M10 as the company is keeping silent on these issues, Venture Capital Post recently claimed in a report that the smartphone would come with a 2k-4k resolution display. Moreover, it is expected to be powered by an octa core Qualcomm processor and pack either a 64GB or 128GB internal storage alongside 4GB of RAM.

The Venture Capital Post report further claimed that the HTC One M10 may include features like a 27 MP main rear camera with phase detection Auto-focus technology, a 3500 mAh battery unit, waterproof and dust proof abilities, heart sensor, security Touch ID scanner, in addition to two-stereo speakers.

All said and done, the specifications of the device discussed above have yet to be confirmed.
