HP Smartwatch MB Chronowing Release Date: Specs, Features, Price - Launch Date Arrives

HP is launching the MB Chronowing smartwatch, a new device that looks just like a luxury men's watch, on Friday, November 7.

The smartwatch was designed by Michael Bastian, the 2011 Council of Fashion Designers of America Men's Wear Designer of the Year winner and Hewlett-Packard engineered it.

"If you're like me it's because you couldn't find one that actually looked and felt like a watch. That's why I took it into my own hands to redefine the classic timepiece," Bastian said in a video.

The luxurious-looking smartwatch doesn't have a touchscreen display or microphone unlike other smartwatches.

It displays notifications from a wearer's iPhone or any Android smartphone running 4.3 or higher operating system. Such notifications are emails, texts, calendar and social medias updates.

The notifications can be filtered and the watch auto syncs to any time zones. It shows the weather condition as well.

The wearer of the smart wristwatch can set it up to display stock information or sport updates.

The HP smartwatch is 5ATM water-resistant and it allows its wearer to control his music by adjusting the volume and switching tracks directly from his wrists.

The MB Chronowing standard edition comes with brown leather, olive nylon and black rubber interchangeable bands and it costs $349.

The limited edition of MB Chronowing has an Apple Watch style sapphire crystal glass face and an alligator strap that costs $649.

The 44mm stainless steel smartwatch doesn't have a colored LCD touchscreen display and its battery can last for a week on a single charge, according to iDigital Times.

The smartwatches, Moto 360 and Samsung Galaxy Gear, have a battery life that can last for day and even the upcoming Apple Watch is expected to need nightly charging.

The MB Chronowing may be more expensive than most Android smartwatches but it is cheaper compared to most luxury watches, as its starting price is similar to the Apple Watch's.
