'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9 Finale Spoilers and Rumors: Finale Episode Called 'Last Forever' (VIDEOS)

"How I Met Your Mother" fans will finally get to see how the show ends with its 2-part series finale episode tonight. The last episode of the long running comedy series is titled "Last Forever." Here are some of the rumors that should help viewers prepare for the series' final episode airing tonight.

Last month, Josh Radnor, who plays the lead role of Ted Mosby in the show, tweeted a photo of the Farhampton sign and wrote, "About to shoot a scene on a train platform." His previous post appears to hint that how his character and the Mother first met will be shown on the last episode of "HIMYM." Cristin Milioti first joined the "HIMYM" cast in the eighth season as a special guest star. She became a regular cast member in the last season after she was revealed to be the future of wife of Ted. However, since her debut, she has always been referred to as the "Mother" aka "The Girl With The Yellow Umbrella." Like her first meeting with Ted, her character's name will most likely be revealed in the final episode of the hit CBS series.

According to the Latin Post, hints from previous episodes indicate that the "Mother" character might be dead in the future. This might be related to the "The Mother Is Dead" theory. A picture was recently leaked on the web displaying Neil Patrick Harris' Barney Stinson character not wearing a suit. Some fans may recall, Barney previously revealed that a funeral is one of the few occasions where he would not be wearing a suit, according to a Enstarz report.

"People are so sure and they have such opinions about what they think is going to happen, but nobody is 100 percent right. I think people will be happy with the way this plays out. It's a great ending," said show director Pam Fryman to TV Guide in an interview in reference to the series finale's rumors.

Here is what some of the stars said about tonight's series finale and saying farewell to their longtime cast mates.

"I don't want to go out on a limb, but I will. This is potentially the best finale of any show ever ... with the possible exception of the second "Newhart" series," said Jason Segel [who plays Marshall Eriksen in the series] to CNN.

Like Segel, Harris, Radner and Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders has been on the show since the Pilot episode nearly a decade ago. Here is what she had to say about being a part of "How I Met Your Mother."

"We had our last table read and I cried puddles of tears. It's such a good group of people, such a great show. I get to play such a wonderful character. I'm so blessed and I'm sad to say goodbye, but we've been blessed to be on the air for nine years which doesn't happen anymore," said Smulders [who plays Robin Scherbatsky in the sitcom] to CNN.

The hit series has been on CBS since its debut back in 2005. The "How I Met Your Mother" Series Finale airs tonight on CBS at 8pm EST.
