'How I Met Your Mother' Alternate Ending: Happy Ending For Show This Time Around?
'How I Met Your Mother', the comedy romance drama sitcom by CBS first premiered in 2005, and had a less-than-likeable finale in March of this year. In the finale, Ted Mosby's (played by Josh Radnor) wife, Tracy McConell (played by Cristin Milioti) died of a terminal illness, much to the dismay of the show's fans.
However, nearly a month before the series' DVD release, information had leaked on the Internet that the DVD version of the show's finale would feature a whole new ending to satisfy the sitcom's faithful fans.
According to reports, the new version of the series' finale will twist its official sad ending, from earlier this year, into a happy one. Unlike the originally premiered final episode, the new version will supposedly show that Mosby's wife will not be dying of a deadly sickness, but will instead live happily ever after with show's main character. Reports claim that the final scene on the DVD version shows Mosby and his wife arguing over who owns the yellow umbrella while they are at a train station.
Videos of the alleged leaked final scene has been circling about the media until CBS protested against the websites who hosted the footage, citing copyright infringement. This consequently forced the sites to take down the alleged HIMYM final scene video. So far, CBS has not confirmed nor denied if the leaked footages is in fact authentic, but producers for the show already told the press that they were torn about creating two different endings for the hit sitcom.
