'House of Cards' Season 5 News, Spoilers: Frank Underwood Continues Fight To Keep Power?

It is still a year before the premiere of "House of Cards" season 5 but talks about the political drama series is already all over the web.

Spoilers for the upcoming season tease that characters will continue to put out all stops to maintain power, and that the season will be packed with "survival of the fittest" scenes, tackling more assassinations, connivances and loyalty issues.

One of the hottest issues these days is that Frank Underwood will get his much-needed self-redemption and will win the Presidential election despite his debility.

In an interview, Neve Campbell also teased that the upcoming season will be a special season for the female characters of the series.

"This is a good year for women in House of Cards! All the female characters are very powerful," she said.

A new love affair will also blossom in season 5 as it features a twist in the relationship of Leann and Doug Stamper. Based on a report by Hollywood Reporter, the two will be romantically involved but will have to deal with bloodshed in the course of their relationship.

Reports say that it will not take long before the new couple turn intimate with each other, and that they will decide to pursue their own political careers after leaving the first couple.

Moreover, there are speculations that the new season will feature Claire eliminating her husband from the Presidential seat, or her husband killing her so he can continue his affair with Leanne/Stamper.

Rumored to be the last installation of the series, "House of Cards" season 5 is set to be released on Netflix in March 2017.
