‘House of Cards’ Season 3: Netflix Commences Production, Confirms Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey, who plays the ruthless main character Frank Underwood in Netflix original series "House of Cards' took to Twitter to announce that production for the latest season has commenced.

"Thanks to all who came out for Clarence Darrow @oldvictheatre! What a blast it was to do. Now back to Washington for"¦well, you know," said Spacey on his Twitter account on June 17.

"House of Cards' Season 2 ended with a shocker, as Frank Underwood had finally achieved what he has been intending to do his whole life. The cold-blooded vice president became President of the United States, and did so even without a single vote cast in his name.

Fans are wondering whether the recent developments in the series will cast a negative effect on the plot lines of Season 3. After all, Seasons 1 and 2 of "House of Cards' showed Underwood's relentless pursuit of the presidency. So what comes next, now that he's achieved his ultimate dream?

The show's creator, Beau Willimon, spoke about the complicated motives around Underwood and what viewers can expect from Season 3.

"What do you do when you're on top of it? Who are you? You can no longer say, "I'm the guy trying to reach the summit.' Now, it has to have meaning. It used to be that the meaning was getting there," Willimon said in an interview.

Many fans are speculating that Underwood will now deal with his skeletons in the closet in the newest season, including the death of reporter Zoe Barnes.

"House of Cards' Season 3 is predicted to air its first episode on February 2015.
