‘House of Cards’ Season 3 Release Date, Cast Rumors: Netflix Premiere Could Reveal Doug Stamper Surviving His Attempted Murder?

"House of Cards" has drawn in viewers by the thousands since its inception as a Netflix original series in early 2013. Its labyrinthine web of political conspiracy has left everyone on their toes as Frank Underwood climbed his way to the top of the political ladder.

We've seen that certain threads of the conspiracy have threatened to come unraveled, as Chief of Staff Doug Stamper may have lost his life in a confrontation with Rachel Posner, a possible loose end undermining Frank's Presidency.

In the last seconds, the camera panned away showing Stamper crumpled on the ground, eyes opened in apparent death or paralysis, but does this mean that actor Michael Kelly will not be returning as the calculating Chief of Staff for the coming season?

The original series was intended only to last two seasons, but its immense popularity led it to be renewed for at least third season.

Executive Producer of the show Rick Cleveland has said that he will continue producing the show as long as actors Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright continue to reprise their roles as the two main characters, the ruthless Francis and Claire Underwood.

Now, the question is what the new season will hold for the recently inaugurated president. Filming has already begun according to series creator Beau Willimon. Production is set for June, but there is no word yet on when the new season will be released on Netflix.

However, since the past two seasons of "House of Cards," have been released in February, it seems likely that in the coming year, February will be the date held for the new season's release as well.

As for Doug Stamper, aside from the writers and producers of the show, no one can know if he will come out of the violent encounter with Rachel brain matter intact.

Actress Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Rachel Posner, commented to Entertainment Weekly, "It cuts so quickly. I don't think we can say for sure that Stamper is dead." And that's coming straight from the horse's mouth.
