Robin Wright almost turned down her part in the hit Netflix series House of Cards after she feared that she would need to have cosmetic surgery to take the role.

Wright, who plays Claire Underwood for the show, recently conducted an interview with Town & Country for the magazine's June issue. In the piece Wright implied that she was hesitant about taking the role as she spoke to producer David Fincher as she feared that the position would require her to have surgical adjustments. 

"I was sitting there going, 'You're 45, and you're not gonna get a face-lift."  

"I was really considering that stuff because in Hollywood the pressure's there. You better lift that face and pump those lips and hike those boobs!  And I was like, 'I don't want to do that. I'm going to get older. I'm going to have wrinkles!" shared the 48-year-old actress.

Wright also mentioned that she is particular about the jobs she takes and that it is important that the role would contribute to her integrity. 

"If there's nothing for me to do as an actress, that's frustrating.  I'd rather go work at a menial labor job, where I can actually get my hands dirty," she added.

Now that House of Cards has been given the go ahead to continue filming in Maryland for its third season, Kimberly Skyrme announced recently that there would be casting for open roles such as the NSA director, senators, and editors.
