‘Homeland’ Season 4 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Funeral Scene Filmed in South Africa- Who Dies?
The fourth season of Showtime's political thriller 'Homeland' is coming to a close and viewers are waiting to find out what will become of Carrie and Saul's fate in the Middle East.
Spoilers appeared online claiming that Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes, took a bullet for Saul Berenson, played by Mandy Patinkin, during an RPG ambush. It had fans wondering whether or not the two will make it out of the Middle East alive.
However, images from the set that have appeared showed that Carrie and Saul did in fact survive the rocket blast.
Additional set photos from The Daily News also showed a clear picture of the duo, with Danes looking battered and Patinkin looking bloody as they filmed a gunfight scene in Cape Town, South Africa. The two were also shown ducking for cover and trying to avoid getting shot.
Thanks to the set photos, fans can rest assured that the two survive the ambush at least. However, there are speculations that Saul or Quinn won't make it as there have been reports of a funeral scene.
A tip by Michael Ausiello during an interview with TV Line revealed that sources from South Africa claimed the cast were seen at a chapel in Cape Town where they filmed a full-scale funeral scene.
Some speculate that a funeral scene might have been filmed for the season's finale, but the character that it's for has not yet been spoiled.
However, the synopsis for some of the upcoming episodes has been unveiled.
The 11th episode in Season 4, titled "Krieg Nicht Lieb" or rather "War, Not Love," stated that Carrie is making plans to get her team and herself out of Pakistan and is going to end up putting her life on the line.
The 12th and final episode on the other hand, titled "Long Time Coming," stated that Carrie and Saul return to the United States and investigate all that happened in Islamabad. There were no hints on just who managed to make it back to the U.S. or if they lost any companions along the way.
'Homeland' airs on Sundays at 9 pm on Showtime.
