‘Homeland’ Season 4 Release Date, Cast Rumors: Nicholas Brody Presence Still Strong
The Season 4 finale of Homeland took viewers for a highly emotional ride, especially with the gruesome death of Nicholas Brody. Despite the unwarrented demise of the popular character, executive producer Howard Gordon has assured fans that Damien Lewis' spirit will be alive and well for the upcoming installment to the series.
It was a highly emotional fourth finale for Homeland especially with Nicholas Brody's gruesome death. But despite his unwarranted demise through public hanging, executive producer Howard Gordon assured fans that Damien Lewis' spirit will still be alive on Season 4.
Previous reports already revealed that Carrie Mathison is pregnant to Brody's lovechild, but unfortunate circumstances will motivate her to move to Pakistan, "The story finds Carrie in an emotional space that is very much a continuation of last year's story, and the specter of Brody is still felt very strongly," Gordon told TV Guide.
Season 4 deals with a stronger Carrie, not only as a CIA agent, but also as a first time mother. No one knows how much pain she is dealing with following the death of her love interest, but fans are certain that this will take a significant toll on her and the story.
Other cast members like Diego Klattenhoff (Mike Faber) will not be returning next season, which confirmed by Digital Spy. The Canadian actor had this to say on the matter, "Brody's dead and I think they've moved on. I had such a great run, but from what I understand, Carrie is gone overseas and I don't know how they would squeeze it in."
New roles will be introduced including Corey Stoll, who will be playing Sandy Bachman, the CIA chief in Pakistan, together with Laila Robins who plays as the US ambassador to Pakistan (Martha Boyd).
Currently, Homeland Season 4 is filming scenes in Cape Town in South Africa.
