'Homeland' Season 4 Release Date, Cast Spoilers: Mathison Takes Overseas Mission
According to reports, 'Homeland', the American TV drama thriller series will be premiering its Season 4 on October 5. The show, starring Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, aired its pilot episode in 2011.
In the upcoming fourth season, Mathison, a CIA agent who has been battling mental illness since Season 3, is said to overcome her ailments and can be expected to be very stable in the forthcoming 'Homeland' episodes; this information stems from the show's executive producer, Meredith Stiehm.
Another new aspect of the season that fans can anticipate is that Mathison will be involved in an overseas mission. This will be a first for the CIA operative since the series started, even though she's been a "field agent" this entire time.
What's interesting about the new mission is that she will be forced to leave her child at home. Evidently, this will be stressful for her, and will be apparent in her attitude as depicted in Season 4.
In terms of cast news, the producers of the show have confirmed that Jessica Brody (Morena Baccarin) may not be returning for Season 4, and Dana Brody (Morgan Saylor) has already left the series.
Beyond that, Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) is expected to be a central character in this season, even though he left the CIA during 'Homeland' Season 3. Meanwhile, 'Scandal' star Nazanin Boniadi, is reported to have been cast as a series regular for this upcoming installment. Boniadi was first seen in the series during the third season as Fara Sherazi, a Muslim CIA analyst hired by Berenson as an international banking expert.
