Hillsong United's 'The White Album Remix Project' Releases March 3, and Draws Inspiration From the Diversity of the Beatles

Hillsong UNITED will be releasing The White Album [Remix Project] on March 3, which will feature a collection of 14 of their greatest hits from previously released UNITED projects.

The White Album will include fan-favorites "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)," "With Everything," "From The Inside Out," "Like An Avalanche" and ten other tracks remixed by various engineers and musicians. The album will also have a limited run on vinyl for Record Store Day on April 19, where fans can visit www.recordstoreday.com to find participating retailers.

UNITED will be streaming the entire remix project in #thewhiteroom beginning Saturday 5 PM EST USA / Sunday 9 AM Sydney time. Fans can go to hillsongunited.com to hear The White Album for 24 hours via video live in Sydney.

"I think few things are more inspiring and challenging as the alluring white of an empty canvas," said UNITED's Joel Houston on the idea behind this project in a press release. "We collaborated with friends and artists who brought their unique creative gift to the table and were able to shine a different light on things. The result is The White Album - stealing its title as a respectful ode to arguably one of the greatest albums by perhaps the greatest band of all time (and no, we certainly aren't comparing our little remix project to The Beatles), but we are however inspired by the way they, like many others artists over the years have pioneered the sound of music for generations, defining culture along the way. This is the power of music; it's ability to change the atmosphere, break down walls, and define culture. As worshippers, this is what's its all about - seeing our present culture enfolded into the eternal culture of God's kingdom! He is after all, making all things NEW!"

This album is following UNITED's most successful and fastest selling album to date, ZION, which was released last February. UNITED had their biggest year with their album topping iTunes overall and debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200. ZION also spawned the band's biggest hit with the single "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)."

According to Billboard, "Oceans" has been the No. 1 Hot Christian Song for 13 straight weeks and the No. 1 Christian Digital Song for 16 weeks going back to November 2, 2013. The official lyric video for the song has received more than 7 million views.
