Hilary Duff ‘Chasing the Sun’ Video Goes Viral: Duff Returns to Music With 11 Million YouTube Hits

Hilary Duff's "Chasing the Sun" music video has just been released on Tuesday and has since gone viral with more than 11 million hits on YouTube.

The new music video features Duff as an office worker who daydreams about being at the beach. In the video, Duff is wearing a polka dot top with glasses on, and acts like the office klutz whose heart belongs at the beach.

"Chasing the Sun" was co-written by Duff with artists Jason Reeves, Gad and Colbie Caillat. The song will be a part of Duff's new album which will be released later in the year.

The new album, which has not yet been named, will showcase Duff's return to the music scene after five years.

"I took a break from music for quite a while, but it gave me the power to choose my next steps carefully and I'm really proud of the album I've made," Duff said in a press release, "The song and its music video is a light and fun summer song that I hope helps people to feel a little more carefree."

In Duff's recent interview with People Magazine, she expressed her thrill with working with musician Ed Sheeran on the "Chasing the Sun" music video, "It was amazing to have him there and to have him be so involved. And it scared the s**t out of me too," Duff said on the interview.

Meanwhile, the former "Lizzie McGuire" star separated from her husband, professional hockey player Mike Comrie in January, and Duff admitted that it wasn't easy, "I'm separated from my husband right now, which has been a very difficult thing to go through," Duff said, according to Billboard.

The singer added that despite their separation, they still have a lot of love for each other and for their son Luca, age 2.
