'Hercules' Star Kevin Sorbo Talks About 'God's Not Dead' Film, Atheist Anger, Religious Extremism (VIDEO)
'Hercules: The Legendary Journeys' star Kevin Sorbo recently talked about how some Atheists are extremely angry with Jesus Christ and his followers in America during a recent interview.
"It's funny how they can get nativity scenes pulled down because they say it offends them but they're offended by something they don't believe in," said Sorbo to Access Hollywood Live.
He went on to say, "What offends 90 percent of the country is that they take down nativity scenes, but apparently the majority doesn't have a voice in the country anymore so what are you going to do?"
He also talked about his recent portrayal as Prof. Radisson in the 'God's Not Dead' film that was released earlier this year.
"I'm a Christian myself and had to play an atheist," Sorbo, "I see the anger of these guys on TV and it's like 'Wow, how do you get so angry at something you don't believe in?"
The 55-year-old 'Andromeda' actor further expressed his views on the Constitutional right to freedom of speech, expression and religion.
"What's interesting is that people say students don't get persecuted in universities because of their beliefs, but it does happen," said Sorbo.
"What's the big deal? I'm a 'live and let live' kind of guy. If you're an atheist, fine. If you're agnostic, we can talk. This movie is not to preach to the choir, we wanted the choir to come and obviously they did," he stated.
Earlier this year, Sorbo talked about extremists on both sides of the issue, regarding people who have faith in God and also the people who do not believe in God.
"You have extremes on both sides," said Sorbo to BreatheCast in March, "Whack jobs on all sides, if you are truly a Christian in my mind you don't condemn people who say they're Christian, you shouldn't condemn anybody anyway. The whole idea is to love your neighbor as you love yourself, but the problem is a lot of people don't love themselves."
