Henry Cavill's Superman suit has been revealed to the public by means of a photo release. The new suit plays on the classic Superman costume, but adds darker undertones and a sleeker design. The new outfit will premiere on the big screen in the new movie Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice on May 6, 2016.

In the photo, it would seem that the Kryptonian is standing in Batman's Gotham City rather than his own Metropolis. The Man of Steel is usually associated with bright and hopeful colors, but this time around it seems he's surrounded by gloom and darkness.

The picture implies much about the new movie's course and plot. Superman will most likely become overwhelmed by Gotham City and strike conflict with the Caped Crusader, this is also signified by the "v" in the movie's title, meaning versus.

The movie is currently being filmed in Detroit and fans are getting even more excited as the official photos of Superman and Batman's costumes have both been released. Director Zack Snyder gladly said "It's not an un-fun job, I will say that," he told USA Today.

Some of the fun involved is figuring out which obstacles to put Superman up against, "the fun of trying to figure out what to put in front of him that's difficult," Director Snyder explained.

Snyder also is impressed with how Cavill evolves with the Superman character, "We've both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit. The more time I spend with Henry, the more he's Superman to me." He told USA Today.

While 2016 is still a long ways away, the movie has already generated a lot of hype, "You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but its Batman and Superman, let's just be honest. I don't know how you get bigger than that." Snyder said.

Superman's iconic nemesis Lex Luthor will be played by Jessie Eisenberg who also recently introduced.
