The Miami Heat (44-18) will play the Denver Nuggets (28-36) at the American Airlines Arena tonight in Miami looking to continue their inevitable drive towards the playoffs.

The Miami Heat's current struggles have cost them the opportunity to move into first place in the Eastern Conference.

After losing four of their last five games to playoff-contending teams, the Heat will attempt to return back to their winning ways tonight versus the Denver Nuggets.

Miami is seeking to prevent suffering back-to-back home defeats for the first time since 2010-11 after losing by the final score of 96-95 to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.

Denver began a five-game trip against the East with a couple of losses before winning 120-112 versus the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. 

The Nuggets shot 51% and made 10 of 22 3-point attempts.

"We didn't miss too many shots in that second half," said Ty Lawson, who tallied 17 points and 12 assists. "In this league, when you get everybody touching the ball and scoring, you're going to give that extra effort at the defensive end. Everybody had it going for us in the second half."
