Heat, Pacers ONLINE LIVE STREAM Watch Game 5 HERE: Can Heat Take Series Lead Over Pacers in Miami?
The Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers series in this year's Eastern Conference Finals has been as even as it could be. In 4 games, each team has won one game at home and one game away. The series shifts back to Miami, for a crucial Game 5 for the Heat.
On the Pacers side of things so much pressure has been put on the shoulders of Indiana's big men: Roy Hibbert and David West. With the exception of Frank Vogel's Game 1 gaffe [benching Hibbert in the final seconds], Hibbert has been phenomenal. However, the key to Game 4 was the backcourt: George Hill and Lance Stephenson. Together the duo combined for 39 points. In Game 5 it's critical for Hill and Stephenson to give West and Hibbert some support. If all four players [with a little offensive production from rising superstar, Paul George] the Pacers might have enough points to beat the Heat.
Unfortunately for the Pacers, they never know what they're going to get from Stephenson.
In the 2013 regular season, the Miami Heat were the second best 3-pt shooting team in the league. Those stats haven't translated to this series with the Pacers. Unfortunately for the Heat, the Pacers are one of, if not the, top perimeter defensive teams in the postseason. If LeBron James can demand double-coverage in the paint, outside shooters like Ray Allen and Shane Battier could see some better looks.
X Factors for Game 5 in Miami? For Indiana, Lance Stephenson needs to come alive. Sinking more than 20 points like he did in Game 4, could be a huge asset for the Pacers. For Miami, the three-point shooters need to come alive. So far Allen and Battier are 7-30 in the first four games of the series.
Indiana Pacers at Miami Heat tonight at 8:30 ET on TNT.
