Hearts of Saints frontman Craig Felker shares the inspiration behind "Merciful God" from the band's forthcoming sophomore release, For All of Us, available Jan. 15, 2013.

"Last April, the band spent a week in Haiti leading worship, building homes and developing relationships with brothers and sisters in the community of Jacmel. The experience was both confusing and deeply moving, as we witnessed how poverty and joy coexist there. We witnessed a hope and love that could only be explained by the trust and goodness of God's presence. 'Merciful God' is about that collision. It's Matthew 28:20 where Christ tells his disciples 'I'm with you always.' Even in the worst situations, God promises that He'll never leave us.
