'Hawaii Five 0' Season 5 Premiere Date, Cast News, Spoilers: Carol Burnett Returning for New Season

CBS Productions has recently renewed the popular TV series, 'Hawaii Five-0', for its fifth season. However, looking back at the show's roots, there have been many more seasons of the show, that should not be overlooked.

The current TV series named 'Hawaii Five-0' has a zero at the end of its title, but the show that it's based on 'Hawaii Five-O' has the capital letter at the end. The original series aired from 1968 to 1980, for a total of 12 season. The show was produced by Leonard Freeman, and did it's filming on set in Hawaii.

Stepping back into the present day version of the long-time running series, the show was remade and aired on May 19, 2010. On 'Hawaii Five-0' Scott Caan portrays Detective Danny "Danno" Williams, Alex O' Loughlin plays Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett, Daniel Dae Kim plays the role of Detective Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly and Officer Kono Kalakaua is portrayed by Grace Park.

CBS Productions renewed the show for the fifth season on March 13, 2014. However, since then, new cast members have been announced in order to spice things up a bit. Jorge Garcia, who played a conspiracy theorist and Chin's High School classmate named "Jerry Ortega" last season, has been promoted to series regular.

Moreover, singer Frankie Valliwill walks down the aisle this season. In addition to this, fans should look forward to the return of Carol Burnett this season as Deb. She will be playing as the aunt of Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett. The wedding episode will air on Nov. 21 according to TVGuide

The first Season 5 episode of 'Hawaii Five-0' will be broadcast on Friday, September 26, 2014 on CBS.
