'Halo: Nightfall' Film Project First Look Comic-Con 2014 Teaser Video
A panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 today, offered fans a first look at the new 'Halo' based film, 'Halo: Nightfall', in a teaser type video. This film project, unlike the 'Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn' series, will be set in the "present" and not the "past."
One of the main reasons the panel and the video were shown, was to introduce fans to a new character. Nightfall's Locke, who was revealed earlier by Mike Colter, will play a major part in Xbox One's 'Halo 5: Guardians'. The actor who will play Locke told fans that he "can't confirm whether he's a friend or foe of Master Chief."
Frank O'Connor, Halo's franchise development director, said that the new film project will work around the origin of the character, and that, "You will see some new Spartan armor on Locke in Halo 5."
Additionally, the panel made mention that the show will not include the Pelican vehicle that's seen in the game series, but they did admit that another vehicle would take its place. The Condor, a mid-range transport type vehicle will have a serious part in the action, instead of the Pelican. O'Connor said they initially called it the "Super Pelican."
Mentioning the game's setting and world, Frank O'Connor said, "Earth has been through a lot, but the colony worlds are a bit of mixed-bag." He then brought up the problems experienced on the planet Reach, but the colony in Nightfall is a "scrappy group trying to make it work."
The next chance fans will have to hear more about the new 'Halo: Nightfall' film project will be during this year's Gamescom in August. There the team will reveal interactive features that they'd like to incorporate into the project.
