Halo 5 Release Date 2014: E3 Rumors and Why Xbox One Release Has Not Happened

Microsoft announced they will be revealing some Halo news very soon, but did not specify what the game might be.

"Halo news will be coming at E3," said Microsoft exec Phil Spencer on Twitter. "343i has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone."

Gamespot indicated the news could be the long rumored Halo 2 Anniversary game, or perhaps the Steven Speilberg made Halo series. This announcement does not necessarily mean it will be about Halo 5. However, one rumor is the game may eventually arrive in 2015.

"We're proud of what we accomplished with our first release in Halo 4 and now we're focused on something much more transformative as we make the leap to the next generation of Xbox," 343i executive producer Josh Holmes said back in January reported Gamespot.

Earlier this year Halo senior PR Manager Rob Semsey hinted at Halo's return in 2014 with a series of Tweets.

Dubbed as Halo 5, the game is currently in development and was announced at E3 2013. According to Microsoft vice president Phil Spencer's interview with Polygon, the next-gen Halo game did not launch with the Xbox One because the team was dedicated to making Halo 4 a complete and flawless game for the 360.
