Hackers for Hire: Lizard Squad Now Selling DDos Attacks for a Price - Lizard Stresser
New reports have emerged about the notorious Lizard Squad, and this time they are allegedly offering their hacking services for a price. According to sources, those responsible for the recent Xbox Live and PlayStation Network hacks, will now provide DDos style attacks as a service.
The route they are taking in regards to how they will allow people to purchase their "service," comes by means of a program called "Lizard Stresser."
While the program claims to have been designed for the purposes of testing one's own connection, and how it would stand up to DDos style attacks, there's no stopping someone from projecting those types of hacks onto other connections.
For those that are unfamiliar with DDos style attacks, they basically flood a chosen connection with so many connection requests that it becomes overburdened, laggy, or shuts down. Basically, there's so many fake connections trying to connect to a server that anyone actually trying to download, view, or use the content on the site, will not be able to do so.
Stepping into the actual Terms of Service for the "Lizard Stresser" the text reads, "Permission is granted to stress test dedicated servers and networks owned by you. This is the opportunity [sic] to make your firewalls better, not to misuse against the law. This is a license given to you and anything you do while on [Lizard Stresser] is your own responsibility as we are not liable."
Upon the release of the new program, some of the masterminds behind the Lizard Squad took to Twitter and updated anyone interested in the service.
The tweets posted on December 30 said that the service is not up and running, however there is one slight catch. The Lizard Squad is only accepting BitCoin currency at the moment, but they are working on accepting PayPal soon.
For those that may not know, BitCoin is a form of cryptocurrency that has recently been increasing in popularity over the Internet. In layman's terms, BitCoins just one of the many forms of Internet currency, however this one seems to be the most prominent.
Moving back to the matter at hand, Business Insider claims that the Christmas Xbox Live and PlayStation Network hacks were just an advertisement for the new "Lizard Stresser" service.
