'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Cast News, Rumors: Three Characters Unveiled; Chris Pratt Teases Spacecraft On Set

Along with James Gunn's upcoming Marvel Comics film sequel, "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2," the roles of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." star Elizabeth Debicki, "The Knick" actor Chris Sullivan, and "Sons of Anarchy" actor Tommy Flanagan have been revealed.

According to an anonymous source cited by Comic Book Movie, Debicki is set to play Ayesha, who was initially introduced as Paragon in the comic book and she shares her background with Adam Warlock because they were both made by the same team of scientists on earth.

Ayesha and Warlock were supposed to become genetic superhuman creatures, but they managed to flee from their creators and got stuck in outer space. According to Screen Crush, the former has ties with Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel; thus, she could set-up the story arc for both superhero films when they hit theaters.

Flanagan is set to play the role of Tllk Ul-Zyn, an alien associate of Ronan the Accuser. The character appeared in "Annihilation: Ronan Vol. 1 1-2"as Ronan's servant. Previously, the actor was rumored to play the role of one of Yondu's Ravagers; however, his character could be based on one that had the same name in the comics.

Sullivan is going to play Taserface in the Gunn-directed film. According to Cinema Blend, the character is part of the primitive and warlike Stark race from the first century and he encountered the Guardians on the comic book.

In other news, Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the film, shared a video on his Instagram account. It features him driving a spaceship at the film's set. It is noted that the spacecraft is shaky, which suggests that "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is set to be dynamic.

Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 5, 2017. Scott Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" hits theaters on Nov. 4 while "Captain Marvel" premieres on Mar. 8, 2019.
