‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ Release Date Set for 2017
Only recently did Marvel release its unusual franchise of outcast superheroes in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' on the big screen. However, even before it turned out to be a blockbuster film, producers already confirmed its upcoming sequel.
During the Comic-Con 2014, Chris Pratt and director James Gunn have confirmed that they will launch a sequel to the film sometime in 2017.
With the film's international success, fans have been speculating which new characters will appear in the new movie.
There were rumors saying that "Planet Hulk" will be included in the sequel. Unfortunately, Gunn immediately shot down these rumors.
He said, "There's not going to be a Planet Hulk movie, there was never going to be a Planet Hulk movie, there was never a plan for the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy - I wouldn't want the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy!"
Meanwhile, it is known that Marvel has had a habit of incorporating one hit movie with the next. 'Guardians' has been linked to the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' and during the movie pilot, Loki and Odin's names were seen. As it stands, it's possible that both of them will appear in the forthcoming sequel.
On a side note, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' debuted at $94 million, is almost at the half billion mark internationally. It is considered to be the third biggest movie opening of this year just after 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' and 'Captain America 2'.
'Guardians of the Galaxy' 2 is set to release on July 28, 2017.
