'GTA' Movie News: BBC Officially Casts Daniel Radcliffe & Bill Paxton in Factual Drama ‘Game Changer’

If recent reports from GamesRadar as well as Gamespot turn out to be true, fans well see actors Daniel Radcliffe and Bill Paxton in the upcoming 90-minute BBC factual drama about Rockstar founder and 'GTA' creator Sam Houser and his battle with Jack Thompson - an anti-video game lawyer. In fact, Gamespot has further reported that production of the film has already started.

Quoting Gamespot and GamesRadar, Christian Today reports that Radcliffe, who is a household name for his portrayal of 'Harry Potter' in all the eight films of the series, will portray the character of Sam Houser, while Paxton, who is well known for his performances in 'Titanic,' 'Aliens' and 'Edge of Tomorrow,' will portray the character of Jack Thompson.

For the uninitiated, Jack Thompson was a lawyer in Florida and was recently disbarred from practicing his profession owing to delinquency as well as inflammatory actions. He became well known for attacking several video games and video game companies during the 1990s and early 2000s. Often, he held them responsible for most crimes and teenage misbehavior.

Among the several cases Jack Thompson led, one involved the killing of three police officers in Albama in 2008 by a man who claimed he played "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City." While Thompson made an attempt to blame Take-Two Interactive for the crime, the case actually led to nowhere. On the other hand, the Albama authorities revoked Thompson's license to practice law in the state.

In fact, Thompson carried out virulent attacks against the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise spanned from 2003 to 2013. Lately, the erstwhile lawyer also made an attempt to spread hate-messages against "Grand Theft Auto V." Although Gamezone tried to bring Jack Thompson to participate in debate on the issue of video games causing real-life crimes, Thompson refused, saying "gamers are too brain-impaired" to understand.

Meanwhile, the official synopsis for the factual drama titled 'Game Changer' states that the film "tells the story of an extraordinary chapter in the history of this iconic game ("Grand Theft Auto"), and reveals the major impact it has had on our cultural landscape."

Although the official release date of 'Game Changer' has not been announced yet, the factual drama is scheduled to air on BBC Two.
