GTA 6 Release Date, Rumors: PS4, Xbox One Versions Under Development - Release Coming for GTA Online [VIDEO]

Just a few months after the public release of GTA 5, rumors are speculating that works are already in progress for the development of GTA 6 for the PS4 and Xbox One. Rockstar, the production company and designer behind the popular video game, has given no official confirmation yet but is confident that they have at least 45 years' worth of ideas for the project.

In an interview with Rockstar President Leslie Benzies, it was said that there are no final sketches on the outcome of GTA 6 since it requires careful planning and consideration in terms of setting and plot.

"It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in," he said.

Though plans are still abstract as of writing, avid fans may safely conclude that development for GTA 6 is not in the too distant future taking into account what happened during the conception of GTA 4. However, Benzies mentioned that there is also continuous progress for GTA 5 plus an additional GTA Online.

"GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then Online. Plus we have some other things - stuff, DLC. I don't know how to describe it exactly - that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones," Benzies furthered.

When asked about possible settings of the next Grand Theft Auto, the Rockstar President remained firm that the game would be "contemporary-ish, America-ish, English-speaking-ish because that's what it has been."

He clarified though that the company is not only limited to current game designs and is looking forward to more upgrades.
