'GTA 6' Release Date News: Expected to Arrive October 2017, New Locations, New Character

Even though 'GTA 5' for PC, PS4 and Xbox One has not yet been released, game developer Rockstar Games is rumored to be working on 'GTA 6' already.

President of Rockstar North Leslie Benzies teased gamers and said that they have been working on and developing ideas for 'GTA 6'.

"We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what 'GTA 6' will be, but we've got some ideas," Benzies shared.

However, Rockstar emphasized that their main focus for now is GTA Online and the upcoming release of 'GTA 5' on the next-generation consoles.

Also, Rockstar developers currently have their hands full with the recent 1.17 update and several DLCs for GTA Online.

"GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then Online. Plus we have some other things-stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly-that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones," Benzies stated.

Considering where a sixth installment would be set, the GTA series has already visited North American based cities like Vice City, San Andreas and Liberty City.

On that note, rumors are spreading that 'GTA 6' might take place in new locations like London, Paris, Brazil or Las Vegas, while other reports claim that the game will revisit an '80s era Vice City.

Beyond that, a new character named John Martson was also speculated to debut in the new game, according to The Fuse Joplin.

Meanwhile, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser shared his insights about what lies ahead for the game franchise.

"At the moment it feels like [GTA] D.N.A is contemporary-ish, America-ish. English-speaking-ish, because that's what it has been. But that doesn't necessarily limit it to those, that's just what we've done so far," stated Houser.

'Grand Theft Auto' is a popular video game franchise that involves open world gameplay where the player can choose missions, do side activities such as third-person shooting, driving and racing, and even rob a store.

All of these actions are performed in a rather violent way, which has made the games both popular and controversial.

Additional rumors peg 'GTA 6' with a release in October 2017.
