GTA 6 Release Date, Latest: New Female Character to Introduce 'GTA VI' Set in Vice City or Four Other Locations
Speculation about what a sixth installment in the 'Grand Theft Auto' franchise would entail, results in some interesting conclusions. Currently, rumors have been claiming that the upcoming 'GTA 6' will feature a female protagonist who will be introduced in the familiar setting of Vice City.
A recent report concerning Rockstar Games and their motives, pegs them as soley dedicated to 'GTA Online'. However in recent press release by Rockstar President Leslie Benzies, who hinted that the new game has been changed from Liberty City to Vice City, amongst other things.
Benzines stated, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas."
Elaborating, he said "Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas. In that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting."
However, revisiting Vice City may not be the easiest thing to accomplish successfully, "Miami in the 1980's is so iconic it would feel strange to revisit the city in a different time period," Benzines stated.
Beyond that, other locations have been rumored to take a foothold in the highly anticipated 'GTA 6'. According to GTA developers Paris, London, Brazil, and Las Vegas (possibly named Las Venturas) are potential locations for the game.
On the other hand, 'GTA V' writer Dan Houser confirmed that the upcoming GTA game will not be based in London because of the 1999 title 'Grand Theft Auto: London 1969', this would perhaps rule out Paris, Brazil, and Las Vegas as well.
Houser also revealed that 'GTA 6' might have a female lead character rather than a male, provided the setting and situation were suitable, "In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course, we just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about," he said.
As it stands, there is no official release date for 'Grand Theft Auto 6', but it seems as though it will eventually come out.
