"Grey's Anatomy' creator Shonda Rimes is hinting that when Season 11 launches this September, not much time will have passed since the events of May's finale.

"About 24 hours"¦maybe," said Rimes in an interview with TVLine.

The short time jump confirms that Meredith will still be reeling from the loss of her best friend Cristina, and possibly the loss of Derek, who is about to go to D.C. Rimes also said that the theme of the season is all about Meredith.

"Right now, if you were in the writer's room, you would probably tell me that the theme is "Meredith'. Because all I keep saying is, "The show is just about Meredith Grey!"

Another shocker is the appearance of Meredith's new secret sibling, Maggie. Rimes is saying that Maggie's storyline will be different than how Meredith first responded to her other half sibling, Lexie.

Rimes also revealed that a majority of the Grey's Anatomy cast has been signed on for two more years. When asked by Hollywoodreporter.com if she sees the show going beyond Season 12, the show runner said, "I see the show going as long as I'm interested in telling the story. I discovered that I continue to find things that excite me."

Other things to look forward to are more appearances by Caterina Scorsone, who has been promoted to a series regular, so there will be more of Dr. Amelia Shepherd in Season 11.

Isaiah Washington, last seen in 2007 as Dr. Preston Burke, will return for one episode in May, while Kelly McCreary will guest star on the May 8 episode as a surgeon.

"Grey's Anatomy' will premiere its first episode of Season 11 on Sept. 25 at 8pm on ABC.
