GREY'S ANATOMY: SANDRA OH IS LEAVING AFTER SEASON 10
It has been announced that Golden Globe winner and five-time Emmy nominee Sandra Oh, is leaving "Grey's Anatomy" after playing 10 years of playing the surgeon known as Cristina Yang on "Grey's Anatomy". Sandra Oh will be departing the medical drama in 2014 after its upcoming tenth season.
Sandra has been thinking about leaving Grey's Anatomy since her and cast mates James Picken, Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey and Chandra Wilson all signed their two-year contracts to do season 10 of the series.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sandra Oh said "Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her (Cristina Yang) go." Grey's Anatomy writers have started to thinks of ways to cut Cristina Yang's character out of the series.
ABC doesn't want any of the original members of Grey's Anatomy to leave and have hopes that they will stay on as long as they can. ABC made the statement "It's our intention to have Grey's on the air for many years to come, with as many of the original cast as possible."
The series has lost actors who played prominent roles including Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight, but Oh' role as Cristina is big because she is the best friend to main character Meredith Grey.
