The 2014 NFL season begins Thursday night as the defending Super Bowl Seattle Seahawks host the Green Bay Packers in front of the passionate and extremely loud Seahawks fans as the squad from Washington State celebrates their first ever Super Bowl victory after defeating the Denver Broncos on February 2.

"I just try to remain humble and just realize that I'm so blessed to be where I am, so blessed to be the starting quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks," said Russell Wilson, according to a recent USA Today report, "I've worked extremely hard at it."

Wilson also mentioned what advice NBA Legend Michael Jordan gave him when the two sports champions played at the six-time NBA Champion's golf tournament recently.

"The thing that he said is being able to lead, being able to bring the others with you and, also, being the one that's always the first one there and the last one to leave, to take the extra shots, to help the young guys and do all the things that you can. I think you just have to do that much more. Human nature wants to fight against that. Human nature wants you to naturally relax and not improve," said Wilson.

He went on to say, "One of the things I'm trying to do - and our team collectively - is to fight that and to continue to improve and continue to stay focused on one mission, and that's going 1-0 every week."

Wilson's opponent Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is ready for the upcoming match between both his team and the formidable Seahawks defense.

"There's a challenge at every level," said Rodgers in a conference call, according an IB Times report, "They're really talented up front. They're as good as they come on the back-end with the safety-corner tandem. And they're very talented and long and rangy and athletic and physical in the linebacker group."
