GoPro Hero 4 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Processor Upgraded, March 2015 Availability
Rumor has it that the GoPro Hero 4 is going to be released by the end of March 2015. What's more is that this time around, the new camera will be substantially boosted in terms of hardware.
According to reports, speculation suggests that the GoPro Hero 4 is likely to be released with a Cortex-A9 processor chip complete with an FPU accelerator - an upgrade from the GoPro Hero 3's ARM A7 processor. The much-needed upgrade is said to allow the highly coveted outdoor camera to capture images and videos of up to 4K pixel resolution.
The supposed new processor also allows videos to be shot at a significant improvement of 30 frames per second at 4K resolution, as opposed to GoPro Hero 3's 15 frames per second at the same resolution.
Full HD videos can be taken effortlessly with the expected upgrade. Beyond that, videos taken at a lower resolution can be recorded a lot faster, 120 frames per second at 1080 pixel resolution, and 240 frames per second at 720 pixel resolution.
Apart from the expected and much needed processor upgrade, the GoPro Hero 4 is also expected to incorporate features such as a significantly improved MCTF, HDR WDR and multi-exposure tone mapping, and more importantly, the GoPro Hero image stabilizer.
Rumors suggest that the much-awaited GoPro Hero 4 will retail at around $350 when it is finally released next year.
