GoPro Hero 4 Release Date, Features and Specs: First Next-Gen Action Camera With Capability To Shoot 4K Videos, Expected In Oct. 2014
GoPro has announced that it will release its upcoming next generation camera the GoPro Hero 4 within October 2014. However, another report says that the camera specialized for extreme sports photography will be released on March 2015.
In the past, GoPro has launched quite a few products and its cameras are generally used for capturing extreme sports in live action. In fact, GoPro is a phenomenon in the world of leisure and extreme sports photography. These cameras can work amazingly even when submerged under water or in the sky at high altitudes.
The camera is a rugged but lightweight one, weighing below 100 grams. Tt has a special attachment for windsurfing; skip poles, cars, boards and nearly all other things in motion. It enables you share your feats through videos which can be displayed in 4K quality.
Compared to its predecessor that has an ARM A7 processor, GoPro Hero 4 will possibly come with an A9 chip that will allow the user to capture 4K videos at the pace of 30 frames per second, which doubles GoPro Hero 3's capacity. In fact, it will be the first camera in the series to shoot 4K videos at such high frame rate.
In addition to the Cortex A-9 processor chip, GoPro Hero 4 will incorporate an FPU-accelerator that will ensure superior quality and precision in each shot. The camera will be able to record video of 1080 pixels at the rate of 120 frames per second and 720 pixels at the rate of 420 frames per second.
GoPro Hero 4 is also expected feature a latest 13-megapixel photo-sensor to take photos and videos in the dark. It will also have the ability to function under water up to 60 meters deep.
Other specs of the camera include a Wi-Fi module, as well as a USB and HDMI port to ensure a smooth connection with other devices.
