Will the GOP Be Able to Put a Republican in the White House in the Next Election?
The Republican Party is currently making a bid for the 2016 Presidential Election in the United States, but will they be able to pull off putting one of their own in the White House? Some critics think that they are not learning lessons from their failures the past two elections fast enough to keep a Democrat out of office. Recently, after the Affordable Care Act debacle, the GOP has taken a larger chunk of the polls than they have in recent months.
Although Republicans have taken the "kill Obamacare" strategy to heart, they have failed to reach out to growing demographics, such as young people, women and Latinos. Young people who are just now getting the right to vote as they turn 18 largely identify with the Democrats rather than the Republicans. People like Michele Bachmann and Ted Cruz often help to widen the gap between the GOP and young voters with racial comments and aggressive anti-Obama talk.
Critics are also speculating that Obamacare will take a turn for the better once January 1st rolls around because states are catching on to the fact that if they want to make it work, then the program will work.
Do you think that the Republicans will be able to pull off a 2016 win in the White House? Or do you think the Democrats will be able to win a 3rd straight election? Let us know what you think in the comments!
