Google Nexus 7 2 News: Release Date July 24 at "Breakfast with Sundar Pichai" Event?
With all of the hype surrounding the recently released Samsung Galaxy S4 and upcoming Apple iPhone 5S, it would be easy for many to forget about other major smartphone releases such as the Google Nexus 7. Generation 2 of Google's popular table, the Nexus 7 2 is scheduled to be revealed at a special Google even Wednesday, July 24.
Media and press were invited to the event via a mysterious invitation that invited guests to a "breakfast with Sundar Pichai." The breakfast with Sundar Pichai is scheduled for July 24 at 9 AMP PDT at DogPatch Studios in San Francisco.
The guests invited to the event most likely knew Sundar Pichai is in charge of Google's Android/Chrome department. Though the invitation didn't mention any specific details, Google is almost certain to reveal the new Nexus 7.
Other key news expected at the event Wednesday is a first look at the newest Android operating system, Android 4.3.
Android 4.3 isn't expected to be a huge upgrade, but it will most likely shed some light on what we can expect the next, highly anticipated Android operating system, Android 5.0 "Key Lime Pie". Key Lime Pie is expected to be released some time in the fall of 2013.
Though they're just rumors, the Nexus 7, 2nd generation is expected to vastly improve on the original. Many believe the Nexus 7 2 will have a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 7-inch display [1920 x 1200 resolution]. As far as under the hood specs go, the Nexus 7 2 is rumored to come with 4GB DDR3 RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and a 3,950mAh battery.
